How to Change the 6.7 Powerstroke Diesel Fuel Filters
Changing the engine filter
Remove the fuel line keepers on both lines and by pushing down the yellow tabs and the keeper will go down out of the way, the other fuel line will come off by squeezing both white tabs inward then remove. Loosen the 7mm nut use a 7mm socket wrench to loosen the clamp around the filter, twist to the right until it stops then pull upwards, and install following the same steps in reverse order.
Changing the frame rail filter
Remove sensor harness, and loosen the filter housing with a 1 1/4″ socket or 32mm or use a strap wrench. I highly recommend a strap wrench so you don’t shear the plastic housing. Turn 3 TIMES (before opening the drain valve as to not drench yourself in fuel) then loosen the yellow drain valve and drain into suitable container. Remember to lube the new o-ring and re install everything.
